Erno Goldfinger's Kiosks

Pages 15-18 of the Spring 2025 issue    

Goldfinger is hardly credited for the work he did for the Festival, but in fact put a considerable effort into designing kiosks and telephone boxes especially for the southbank site.

Propaganda in Three Dimensions Part 1

A lot of thought and ingenuity went into the design of the Festival. The chief designers had plenty of experience, much gained in wartime, of the dark art of propaganda, which they used to good effect to get their messages over.

Camouflage and the Festival


Pages 2-5 Winter 2023   Many of the designers of the Festival had served in camouflage uniits in WW2;  they used this experience to turn a bomb site into a futuristic city.
